Da-Da

So Gavin has started making many more sounds lately. Yesterday morning Clint and I both thought he said Da-Da, but we weren't for sure. Then in the afternoon Gavin and I were shopping at Ross with Kara and he repeatedly said Dada. He has said it many more times throughout the day, but as soon as we repeated it he stopped saying it. He also started clapping this week, instead of clapping both hands together he claps the back of his hand... it's so cute. It's so exciting to see him catching on to new things and paying more attention when we show him how to do something new.

After shopping we(Kara, Gavin and I) met Clint, Simon, Mike(who had been playing Fisbee Golf) and Deb at C.B. & Potts to have dinner and watch the 3rd game of the World Series. After dinner we all went to our house to finish watching the game. We almost rented a movie to watch, and should have since the game wasn't even worth watching. The Rockies lost their 3rd game in a row, and went on to loose tonight too.

Earache: Recipe for Ear Drops

The other night Clint went to check on Gavin and he had fallen asleep holding onto his ear. I didn't think anything of it at the time. Then today he kept tugging at it. He's been teething and drooling for a few days. So I think he may be getting an earache too. I got this recipe from a friend of mine for ear drops. I'm going to give it a try, and hopefully we won't have to make a trip to the doctor.

Ear Drops
1 Garlic capsule
1 tsp Olive Oil
5 drops Tea Tree Oil
1 tsp CBG Extract(can be used alone)
4 drops Lavender

  • Plays by himself more, but still have to be able see mama or daddy
  • Smiles all the time
  • Cross pointer and middle finger (usually when nursing) but just noticed you could do this the other day
  • Learning to clap, haven't quite got it down yet... but get very excited when we help him
  • Sitting still at the meetings
  • Love dogs...like to watch them run... especially Tanner and Gunner

sick of being sick

Wednesday night we had girls night and watched Evening and all brought Mexican for dinner. It was a good movie and the food was great. But as soon as I ate I felt nauseous and have been sick since. I thought I was getting better on Saturday, so we went to the Golden Gate State Park to enjoy the afternoon in the mountains. There was a 30% chance of scattered showers at 3:30. 3:00 came and it was sunny.... as soon as 3:30 hit it got really dark and we could hear thunder. Within a couple minutes the ground was covered in snow. So we headed back and hit the mall. We were able to enjoy a couple hours in the mountains and grill out and sit around the fire. Little Man got a lick of his 1st sucker and loved it.

5 days of being sick and I think I'm finally over it.

I'm working on weaning Little Man. Jackie watched him for me while I was sick Thursday, Friday and today... so he is only nursing in the morning when he wakes up and only 1 night in the past 5. He even drank some goats milk the other night before bed. But now he has a fever and I'm afraid he will want to nurse a lot tomorrow. Guess we will see how it goes.
